Who shows up
Rapido is a mobile lock service, not a shop with a counter. One van, out of postcode 1063 in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Twenty years on bike locks, e-bike battery locks, cargo bikes, scooters and motorcycles. You get the man who drives the job. Not a call centre that passes you to someone you have not spoken to.
An ordinary visit
Most evenings look the same, and that is fine. Someone is at a station or a post, the key is in another coat, or the cylinder will not turn. We check the bike is theirs, we open the lock or cut it off, and another lock goes on if the bike stays outside. No story around it. The pages on this site are that work, written down: what not to force, what it costs, and when we do not come.
What we open
Ring lock in the frame, chain around a post, U-lock through the wheel, folding lock, disc lock on a scooter or a motorcycle. If the cylinder still turns, we open it. If the key has snapped inside, or the lock is rusted shut, we cut the lock off. The frame, the disc and the battery stay whole. A new lock can go on before we leave, so the bike is not standing open.
How a visit goes
You call or WhatsApp 06 84 62 36 12 with a pin and a photo of the lock. You hear the price before the van moves. €75 includes the first lock and the drive within 15 km of 1063. Past that, €1 per extra kilometre. Amsterdam centre, postcodes 1011 to 1018, is €25 extra. Evening from 18:00 to midnight is €25. Night from midnight to 08:00 is €50. Express, if you want to jump the queue, is €25. We aim for about half an hour on express. Without it, you get the next run.
When we do not open
No proof, no job. A receipt, a registration, a hire contract, or a clear photo of your ID. If you are not there, or the bike is not yours, the agreed price is still due: the drive was made. We do not cut someone else’s lock off and leave their bike standing open. If your lock is also holding another bike, say so before we start.

Amsterdam and the towns around it. Amstelveen, Zaandam, Haarlem, Hoofddorp, Purmerend, Diemen, Aalsmeer, Weesp, and the villages in between. Day, night, weekend. The price calculator on the homepage uses the longest driving route from 1063, so the quote is not a surprise at the kerb.
