Who we are

These terms apply to jobs for Rapido fietsenslotenservice, “Rapido”. We set out from Amsterdam, postcode 1063, and work in Amsterdam and the surrounding towns.

We open, cut off and replace locks on bicycles, e-bikes, fatbikes, cargo bikes, scooters, mopeds and motorcycles. We do not open house doors, safes or cars. We refer those.

The price

The standard rate is €75. That includes opening or cutting off the first lock, and the drive within 15 km of postcode 1063. There is no separate call-out minimum on top.

Beyond 15 km it is €75 plus €1 per extra kilometre. We use the route with the most kilometres, so a short cut through town does not make the bill higher than the price we gave.

In Amsterdam Centre, postcodes 1011 to 1018, add €25. From 18:00 to 00:00 the evening surcharge is €25. From 00:00 to 08:00 the night surcharge is €50. Express service, priority and a target of half an hour, is €25 extra. Times are Amsterdam time.

A second lock at the same place, on the same visit, is €25. Each lock after that is €25 as well. A new lock and fitting it are not included in the €75. That is agreed first, and you hear the price before we fit it.

The calculator on the site is an indication. The price we confirm before we drive is the price that applies.

Cancellation and waiting

Cancelling is free until we are on the road. Message or call. An express job we have already accepted is no longer free to cancel.

If we arrive and you are not there, or you cannot show the vehicle is yours, the agreed price for the trip still stands. We have already driven.

The first 15 minutes of waiting are free. After that, waiting time is €25 per started quarter of an hour. After 15 minutes with no message we may leave. The trip is still charged.

Ownership and damage

Without a receipt, a registration, or a clear photo of an identity document, we open nothing. That includes at night.

A lock that has to be opened is often unusable afterwards. Cutting goes through the lock, not through the brake disc, the frame or the battery housing.

Card, cash or Tikkie, on the spot, right after the job. Without payment we do not leave a new lock behind.

Liability

The job is entirely at the customer’s risk. We work carefully. Damage to the bike, scooter, moped or motorcycle, including the frame, rim, brake disc, fairing, wiring or battery, stays at the customer’s expense and risk.

Rapido is not liable for consequential loss. Not for a missed train, a day off the road, theft after the lock has been opened, or damage that shows up later.

Liability also falls away if the customer could not prove ownership, pointed out the wrong vehicle, or asked us to continue after the risk was mentioned.

This does not apply to damage caused by intent or deliberate recklessness. The law requires that exception. Beyond that, any liability is limited to the price of the job.

Bikes and locks for sale

Bikes and locks are sold on request, not through a webshop on this site. Price, condition and timing are agreed per item. A lock fitted on site follows the agreement made there.
